Did you know that the average American produces 4.4 pounds of trash a day and 1606 pounds per year? The entire United States alone produces around 254 tons of trash a year. Wordbank.org states that “In 2016, the worlds’ cities generated 2.01 billion tonnes of solid waste.”
Isn’t that crazy!
I do not claim to be a complete zero waste person, but I do try reduce my environmental footprint whenever possible. If you are a zero waste person congratulations to you for not producing trash that will end up in landfills.

The Water Bottle Consumption Problem
As mentioned above water bottle usage is a big problem here in America. In the U.S alone we consume and dump into landfills more than 38 billion water bottles. According to www.greensheepwater.com, only 30% of all water bottles get recycled. That leaves the other 70% to go to landfills where it will take them thousands of years to decompose.
Making The Switch
Many people have recently switched to using reusable water bottles instead of drinking from one-time plastic water bottles in an effort to prevent this issue. These reusable water bottles come in stainless steel, glass, and there are even some made of BPA free plastic that people like buying. There are so many different brands of water bottles to choose from that it can be challenging to choose just one. Below are some of the most popular and useful ones you can get.

I have been hearing people rave about this water bottle more and more in the recent year. I never really saw it in my High School or my first year of college. However, this year I have heard a lot of buzz from YouTubers, bloggers, and people close to me about it.

This water bottle is made of stainless steel. I have noticed that some YouTubers own one of these. I have also seen some people walking around campus with this water bottle. The design is sleek and slim. You can also find this water bottle in most stores that you probably shop at now.
Epica 18-Oz. Glass Beverage Bottles, Set of 6 (Glass Water Bottle)
These water bottles are so aesthetically pleasing especially when you make fruit and vegetable juices at home. They are made of glass, come in a pack of six for an excellent price, and look very great wherever you place them. I have not heard these being talked about a lot just some talk about them here and there. I think these should be more popular then they are right now.
