How do I start a blog?
Surprisingly starting a blog is easier than you might think it is. All you really need is to have access to the internet, and a phone or a computer.
- The first thing I recommend you do is to go to the Bluehost website to get your domain and start your blog from there. Bluehost offers a free domain for one year and a WordPress subscription for as low as $3.95 per month compared to its regular price of $7.99. Yes, that’s right $3.95 per month for all of that. - The second thing you need to do is choose between the Basic, Plus, and Choice Plus plans. The Basic plan starts at $3.95 per month, Plus is $4.95 per month, and Choice Plus is $5.95 per month. I personally choose the Plus plan for $4.95 per month.
- After that, you are taken to a section that allows you to choose your own free domain. Keep in mind that your first choice for a domain name may not be available because someone may have already chosen it. It took me around three tries to get a domain that I wanted and was available.
- Then you are taken to a section where you input your account information such as name and address. This section also includes your package plan length such as 12, 24, 36, or 60 months paid (the amount you are going to pay), and the package extras you might also want. You will also be asked for a credit card for a form of payment.
- Once you have paid, you will be asked to create a password
- After that, you will be asked to create a site title and a site description.
- You will then be given the option to connect to the WordPress website
- Once you are redirected to the WordPress website, you will be asked to create a username and password for your WordPress account.
After you have completed all these steps you should be able to start posting all the blog posts you have always dreamt of writing and posting.
